Hi.

I thought it would be nice to make a thread about the equipment, as we can see in the very long gameplay video, enchanted weapons will have flashy effects, and i just want to say that i so don't like that.

I liked that the enchanted weapons in the last game looked subtle still noticable.

Only hade a changed tone, in dark gold, blue or red.

Which made the game to me more believable and not so much "typical" fantasy.

What do you think?

Blizz does what they can to make things as flash as possible without affecting the gameplay, and if they could have added fireyness on the swords with minimal work over vast numbers of item models, they probably would have. In my opinion, the bigger the effect the better, as long as it doesnt take away from the armour and exaggerate how powerful your character may seem.

maybe the enchanted weapons make the game more fantasy like but it doesnt really botters me. The thing that i hate is that you can see how much you hit. if u take a close look to the hits of the baba you can see how much he hits. thats what i dont like.

Sure, that bothers me as well, but i bet you can turn that off in options or something.

Did u saw the weapon effects in Torchlight??? the are huuuge, and you cant see the action...and the skill effects are exagerated too... after seeing that i think, that in D3 weapon effects are minimal, and it doesn t bothers me...the skill effects are quite realistic too...i mean you still can see the crying face of the monster you hit :P

I was thinking the same things when I played Torchlight and watched the D3 vids, too much effects, too fussy and overdone.  The vid of all 4 D3 characters tearing shit apart in the desert was great but it got too confusing with everyones spells all over the place, I didn't notice there was a Witch Doctor 'till halfway thru the clip!
